Romano X Reader: Mafia Hero prt 3

  _____ stared at him for a long moment trying to let what she just heard sink in.

  "_____?" Romano held her shoulders gently.

  She flinched and looked up at him, ripped from her thoughts. "I-I…" She shook her head and looked down, thinking again. 'Italian mafia? But...he's so nice. He couldn't be a part of the horrible things they do…'

  "Why are-a you crying bella?" Lovino wiped a tear away from her cheek with a sad look on his face. She hadn't even realized she was crying. Like when she first met Lovino, she was too scared to notice.

  She was just about to say something when one of Lovino's men cut her off, "He's just about to crack boss."

  Lovino let go of _____'s shoulders, "Good. I'll be-a there in a moment." The man nodded and went back to the door. "_____, you have-a to promise me you won't tell-a anyone about what you have-a seen." Lovino looked at her with stern and, almost angry looking eyes.
_____ nodded weakly. Lovino's eyes softened and he handed her a card with what she guessed was his number. "If-a you get into trouble, call-a that number, got it?"

  She nodded again as he turned away, "W-wait!" He stopped and looked back at her, "I-I'll see you again right?"

  Lovino turned away and started walking again, "We'll see _____."

  The next three days did not go normally for Lovino. He found himself thinking of _____ often. Part of him wished she would get into some kind of trouble so she would have to call. But another part of him wished she would never have to see him ever again, or that she never met him in the first place. Lovino and the rest of the gang were at a bar at the end of town that no one really went to besides them.

  "Ve~ Fratello what's-a bugging you?" Lovino's brother, Feliciano asked with a poke to his cheek, "You have-a been spacing out a lot."

  Lovino waved his hand away with a slight growl, "None of-a your damn business."
Feliciano frowned a bit, "Fratello please tell me what's-a wrong."
Lovino looked up at him angrily from his seat, "It's none of-a your business jerk!" he got up out of his chair with an angry huff and walked outside for some air, leaving a somewhat hurt Feliciano.

  Lovino crossed his arms and leaned against the building steaming, 'Why does he always have to get in my business!?' he shouted in his head, 'Can't he just find someone else to bug!?' He sighed and looked up the stars then back down to his watch. "Already 11…"

  "Lovino?" A familiar voice called from his right.

  Lovino looked in the direction the soft voice came from. "_____!" Lovino smiled and stood up from the wall.

  _____ smiled warmly at him, her (e/c) reflecting the stars, "You seem to be in a great mood.~"

  Lovino cleared his throat and leaned against the wall again, "Yeah well…" he shook his head and decided to change the subject, "What are-a you doing here?"

  "I'm applying for a job."
